ABOUT US

Brockham Harness Club was founded in late 1969 by a number of carriage driving enthusiasts to promote their mutual interest in the sport and to arrange various carriage driving activities.

We are one of the oldest driving Clubs in the country and have had amongst our ranks a large number of members who have competed with great success both Nationally and Internationally.

During the year we hold instruction and demonstration sessions. One and Two Day Events. Fun Days, visits to places of interest, social events and of course, the annual Carriage Driving Fair at Ardingly South of England Showground.

Today the Club's members have a wide range of talents and driving experience. Some are concerned with FEI competitions, whilst others prefer the gentler pastime of showing or pleasure driving.

We also have members who do not have their own turnouts but are happy to help at Club events.

We therefore extend a cordial invitation to anyone interested in carriage driving to join the Club where they can meet people with similar interests and gain access to information, help and advice on driving in general.

Membership of Brockham Harness Club

Single membership of BHC is £38.25 inclusive of British Horse Driving Trials Association (BHDTA) affiliation costs and insurance.
If you are a member of the BHDTA and you wish to claim a discount for duplication of BHDTA insurance costs you must enter your BHDTA 2009 Membership number. The BHC membership cost is then reduced to £30.

Junior membership is £23.25 if you were not a member of the BHDTA in 2009. Please quote your 2009 BHDTA membership number for a reduction to £15. A junior is a member who has not attained 18 years of age by the beginning of the membership year.

The Club membership year runs from 1 February 2010 to 31 January 2011.

If you would like to join Brockham Harness Club or renew your membership, please send a cheque for £38.25, (or £30) to the address below and include details of your driving interests. Cheques for Juniors should be for £23.25 (or £15 if you were a BHDTA member in 2009).
Club membership gives you access to Club events, training days and regular social activities and news updates. You may also advertise free on the website.

The club runs entirely on the voluntary help of many of its members. If you are able to help the club in any way, we would be delighted to hear from you so please complete the questionnaire.
