The Oaks Driving Club

The Oaks Driving Club was formed in 1976 by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to provide the opportunity for carriage drivers to meet and show their turnouts locally. We cover the East Sussex area.

No matter what you drive, how little or much experience you have, even if you don't drive, you can be assured of a warm welcome at The Oaks Driving Club.

NOTICEBOARD

Hello everyone

Well done and thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the Berwick Weekend.

Please see the World Cup schedule on the 'Events' page. This is an arena event so very suitable for Shetlands to Shires, there is no long mileage involved. Pru is running this competition so you can bet it will be good fun. It’s not until September and we have our show and Funday to look forward to first.

Please get your show entries, Funday and in-hand and Ridden entries in to Jan. Please note there will be separate in-hand and ridden championships- lots of fun for everyone. If you have friends who don’t drive please tell them they are welcome to do just in-hand or Ridden classes and direct them to www.oaksdrivingclub.com so they can download a schedule.

It won’t be long until the show now!

Best wishes

Liz

Oaks Show - August 12th

Hello

This year is going to be a real extravaganza at Broad Farm for our show in August.

Not only have we got a revamped driving show schedule, we will also be running an in-hand and Ridden show plus the Funday.

The fields we hire are so large as to easily accommodate all three events. The in-hand and Ridden ring will be as far away from the driving events as we can make it with two different working in areas to accommodate everyone. The in-hand and Ridden classes are qualifiers for The Showing Register (TSR) championships. You do not need to be a member of TSR to qualify.

The Funday schedule is incorporated in the driving show schedule and the in-hand and Ridden is a separate schedule altogether. Jan Curd will be taking entries for all three events so do please enter as much as you would like to do. I hope you will find your classes don’t clash, Jan and I have put a lot of time into trying to ensure they won’t.

Do forward the schedules on to your friends who would like to come for the day out. All schedules will be on the club website Events page for downloading.

We hope the weather will be fine (it usually is) and we can enjoy all aspects of equestrianism.
