The Oaks Driving Club

The Oaks Driving Club was formed in 1976 by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to provide the opportunity for carriage drivers to meet and show their turnouts locally. We cover the East Sussex area.

No matter what you drive, how little or much experience you have, even if you don't drive, you can be assured of a warm welcome at The Oaks Driving Club.

Oaks Attelage style event - June 17th

Tthe schedule for the Oaks Attelage style event is on the 'Events' page.

This was a very successful day last year, so we hope to make this years event even bigger!

Moira Evans is organising this event and is ready to take your entry now.

And yes, there will be the champagne challenge!

Berwick Weekend - July 14th

We are set for a very busy summer with the Oaks Driving Club.

The booking form for the Berwick Weekend is on the 'Events' page.

Come and enjoy one and a half hours training on Saturday and then the Mini ODE and club barbecue lunch on Sunday.

Get your glad rags out and take part in the fancy dress to be judged during the dressage on Sunday - this years theme is the Royal Wedding! (It had to be didn’t it?) How many ladies can still get in to their wedding dress?

It’s going to be a fab weekend.

Oaks Show - August 12th

This year is going to be a real extravaganza at Broad Farm for our show in August.

Not only have we got a revamped driving show schedule, we will also be running an in-hand and Ridden show plus the Funday.

The fields we hire are so large as to easily accommodate all three events. The in-hand and Ridden ring will be as far away from the driving events as we can make it with two different working in areas to accommodate everyone. The in-hand and Ridden classes are qualifiers for The Showing Register (TSR) championships. You do not need to be a member of TSR to qualify.

The Funday schedule is incorporated in the driving show schedule and the in-hand and Ridden is a separate schedule altogether. Jan Curd will be taking entries for all three events so do please enter as much as you would like to do. I hope you will find your classes don’t clash, Jan and I have put a lot of time into trying to ensure they won’t.

Do forward the schedules on to your friends who would like to come for the day out. All schedules will be on the club website Events page for downloading.

We hope the weather will be fine (it usually is) and we can enjoy all aspects of equestrianism.
