Season of Mists and farewell
The evenings are drawing in
and the leaves are beginning to turn and so it is an appropriate time to take a
look back over the summer season.
And what a season it has been.
We have been blessed with good weather, but that alone is not enough.
We need organizers and
competitors and our event organizers like nothing better than to be rewarded
with a large entry, and this is exactly what we have had.
At Hooe, the Indoor Out was
oversubscribed, the Annual Show was arguably the best in recent years and the
One Day Event at the Hale saw a near record entry.
It is great to see so many
competitors, including old and new members and visiting drivers competing and
enjoying themselves.
We still have the social drive and the Beginners and
Novice Indoor Competition to look forward to.
Talking about the Show, was
Carriage Driving Magazines equivalent to 'The Stig' — aka The Ostler, present?
The show received a complimentary mention in The Ostler's column recently. I
wonder who The Ostler really is!
I have been Chairman of the
Club for some years now and a member of the Committee for more years than I care
to remember.
I have decided that it is time for some new blood at
the top and I therefore will be retiring from the Committee and hence from the
Chairmanship at the forthcoming AGM. I hope I have made a contribution to the
Club. You have an excellent, hard working Committee, who have supported me 100%
as Chairman and I am sure that, in their capable hands, the Club will continue
to flourish.
Thank you for you support and happy driving.
