Location

Pencwm is situated on a hilltop, a mile outside the village of Glandwr. The nearest pubs are three miles away in Llanglydwen and Blaenwaun.

Airport: Cardiff (1hr 20 mins); Swansea (1 hr).

Station: Whitland (20 mins).

We are located just on the border of the three counties of West Wales, and beautiful Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion countryside and coastal scenery surround the house. We are close by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park voted second best coastal path in the world by National Geographic readers in 2010. The setting is rural and wonderfully peaceful, with two fishing lakes and the peaks of the Preseli Hills all within easy reach. There are views of the Preselis from the grounds and upstairs windows of the house. There is an abundance of wildlife around here too, including red kites, buzzards, wild ducks and heron on the pond, owls, badgers and various species of bat.

The nearest village with post office, local butcher, baker, wholefood shop, chemist, grocers, newsagent and garage is 5-miles away in Crymych in the heart of the Preseli Mountains. Crymych also has a leisure centre with a great indoor swimming pool.

The magnificent beaches of South and West Wales are all around, the nearest fourteen miles away at Poppit, just outside Cardigan. This is an area of local crafts and various organic food producers together with talented musicians and artists. You’ll find historic Celtic sites, rugged small beaches and expansive golden sands. There are many ancient castles and Welsh folklore and legends abound. The Welsh language is widely spoken.

The market towns of Cardigan (the nearest town at 14 miles) and Carmarthen are well worth a visit. There are excellent Chinese, Indian and fish and chips takeaways within a few miles.

Carmarthenshire is known as the garden of Wales and hosts the National Botanical Garden of Wales with the historic gardens of Aberglasney nearby, together with numerous natural gardens to visit throughout the three counties. We now have our own racecourse situated at Ffoslas, near Llanelli.
