We are a group of goat owners and/or enthusiasts who meet on the second Saturday of the month. We have speakers and informal get togethers at our winter meetings and visit various venues to do with goat keeping or smallholding during the summer months. Those new to goat keeping are more than welcome – we are there to offer help and answer questions.

Some of the topics we have covered are:
Coppicing; Woodland Garden projects; Rare breed pigs; Bee keeping; Cheese making; Felt making; Willow making; Food Preserving; Meat curing; Seaweed foraging; Worming of Goats; Coppicing; Poultry.

We have also visited:
Dr Benyon’s Bug Farm; A One Planet development site; Various smallholdings; Honey Farm; Orchard Gardens; Eco-village; Bio-dynamic Gardening.

Our calendar for this year is:

March A visit to Veterinary Surgery to talk about apparatus and procedures and the goat’s liver and its function.
April The Organic Tannery in Carmarthen is the venue this month.
Have you wondered how skins of animals were treated and the process they go through. It is the first time the Club has visited this venue and it will be interesting to see the procedures.
